Earl Grey
An invigorating black tea lifted by fresh and exuberant citrus. For supreme texture and flavour, a touch of natural bergamot extract tempers the tea's inherent richness. To be enjoyed with or without milk.
Earl Grey
Our Earl Grey tea uses high quality ingredients that complement each other for a perfect balance of flavour. To create this definitive blend, we selected a full-bodied Ceylon tea from Ruhuna, in the south of Sri Lanka, as a rich, smooth base. To this we add a touch of natural bergamot extract, which tempers the tea's natural fragrance and imparts the iconic citrus note.

Hi Caroline,
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a high rated review.
It's great to hear how much your mother loves the JING Earl Grey!
Warm regards,
JING Customer Service Team - Still experimentingMy least favourite tea from Jing, unfortunately. I found this quite overpowering - probably need to experiment more with quantity and brew times.
=============
Hi,
I'm sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your Earl Grey tea. Sometimes, experimenting with different brewing methods can make a big difference in the taste and strength of your tea. However, if you're still looking for a softer black tea with fruity flavors, you might want to try Red Dragon. It's a delicious tea with a rich, full-bodied flavor that's balanced by sweet notes of fruit. I think you might really enjoy it!
JING Customer Service Team - Outstanding…Simply outstanding Earl Grey Tea. Easy to navigate web-site and quick delivery. No more needs to be said.
- Wide taste of Earl GreyThis gives me a special feeling of bergamot compared of bergamot oil and the other similar bergamot product. I like to drink this tea instead of Blue Bergamot for having a gentle smell. My wife likes this too.
- ExcellentExcellent website. Tea outstanding. Consistently good quality. Delivery fast. Have been ordering the tea for several years and love it
- tastymy goto tea, best early grey available.
- Delicious!Delicious tasting tea. I usually drink it black but occasionally with a slice of lemon. Lovely taste and effortless brew. Can rebrew a couple of times. Excellent value!
- Delicious Earl GreyThe loose leaf tea exceeded all expectations, and reminded me of our local (long closed) tea shop where the tea was in huge waist high tins. The taste and the aroma are both exquisite. Thank you
- Best Earl Grey you can buyLove this tea. Start every day with this Earl Grey in my Tea-iere. Beautiful flavour and excellent service from Jing tea
- Just the bestI have yet to find any other brand of tea that tastes this good.
- AmazingThe best earl grey that I have found.
- The best Earl GreyThis is simply the best Earl Grey tea and I've tried many! Highly recommend, especially the loose leaf.
- Just the best!I first tried this tea in December 2014 (at a hotel in Egam) and have been hooked ever since. Yes, it is more expensive than other brands but it has so much flavour that you are able to get 2 infusions from each spoonful. If you take it weak & black, one spoonful will probably do more.
I have tried a variety of brands but keep coming back to Jing. I take a container of loose tea with me when working away from home so that I may enjoy a perfect cuppa when needed. - Rich & full-bodied Earl Grey without any heaviness or cloying flavorsDiscovered Jing & this Earl Grey some years ago during a stay at Seaham Hall (excellent hotel, BTW). Costs a bit extra and takes a little time to arrive from across the pond, but well worth it. A treat at home or on the road, this tea has become an essential part of my travel kit. I adhere to a three-minute steep, as beyond that the black tea can begin to eclipse the bergamot.
- Best Earl Grey tea ever. A superb brewMy husband first tasted this tea in the Fitzwilliam museum, Cambridge in Autumn 2018. He couldn't get over how lovely it tasted and mentioned it on many occasions afterwards as it has tasted so amazing. He is a regular Earl Grey drinker and said he'd never tasted such a good cup. I ordered him some of this tea, together with a glass tea-iere, bamboo tray and tea caddy for Christmas. He was delighted and savours every drop of this delightful tea.
- Only the best!First tasted this tea in an upmarket hotel at the end of 2014 and it is just the best one out there. It is more expensive than other brands but definitely worth it. I generally drink it with lemon but it does not lose the 'earl grey' flavour if milk is used. I have tried others but always come back to Jing. Unbeatable quality. And as the tea bags are individually wrapped, I can take them with me when I stay away from home.
- Excellent. Usually next day deliveryOnly drink Jing Earl Grey tea since our son gave some to us a few years ago. It is very refreshing particularly with lemon on a hot summer day.
- Loose Leaf Jing Earl GreyDelicious! Nothing beats a pot of Jing tea from a China cup :)
- A Refreshing Cup of Earl GreyThis is a delightful Earl Grey Tea, I drink my tea very weak and it only takes just a very small pinch of leaves to make a refreshing flavoursome cup.
- Earl Grey TeaI bought this for my boss and he loved it!
- The Finest Earl GreyI first came across Jing Earl Grey when staying at a classy hotel in Sydney. That was over five years ago and since then Jing's earl grey tea has been my preferred earl grey. It is not as bitter as some earl greys and has a beautiful aroma.
- InterestingMy honest opinion is that it is good but not the best I have tasted......for me, personally, I like my Earl Grey to taste of Bergamot.......not just a brief smell when I open the packet, but that said well drinkable.
- Exquisite Earl GreyI have really enjoyed this Earl Grey tea; very fresh tea base with excellent flavourings. I enjoy my Earl Grey with a dash of milk, and this tea was by no means overwhelmed by it - the delicate taste still came through delightfully. I will certainly be purchasing this tea again.
- JING EARL GREYI used Jing Earl Grey recently to make long cool, iced tea for a party - it was a hit ! Jing tea has now be recommended to all present.
- Best Tea AroundFantastic tea - brilliant delivery service and never any problems. What more could you want?!
- My morning gloryThis beautiful aromatic tea is my morning tea. It brings a sense of peacefulness and purpose for the start of the day. I love the lingering aroma of the bergamot whilst the tea is brewing and often sneak in three cups out of the one pot. Bliss for the morning.
- DeliciousGreat Earl Grey. Can take milk and delicious without.
- jing earl greySuperb taste and most relaxing and comforting tea!5 STARS!
- Earl GreyOne of the best Earl Gray I ever tasted on this side of the Channel.
- My Absolute Favourite Earli have tried many a earl grey tea, high end and not so, but i have found none to beat jings earl grey its fragrance, bergmont and tea are a exquisite balance. refreshing and moorish.
- My Drinking TeaMy wife and I have resurrected the custom of taking afternoon tea. This is perfect for sharing with family and friends. A great find.
- Earl Grey with a kickSo many Earl Greys are insipid and forgettable This is not the case with Jing's offering. The base tea is strong and deep as the bergamot surges through. Not for the fragile!
- Yes, I have fallen in love with a tin of tea! Many and varied are the Earl Greys I've dallied with , but this one...this one is The One! Perfectly rounded yet with a hint of crispness, and even better with a splash of milk. Just so satisfying! The second infusion is as good as the first..oh! I could go on...Please don't ever change this blend!
- Deeply satisfying and expertly blended...At first glance, the dried tea is a mix of smallish, deeply oxidized purplish-black leaves, interspersed with cornflower petals. The scent is surprising: other than the sweet and spicy smell of the citrus oil, there is a definite warm pine needle aroma present, which adds a wonderful dimension. I followed the directions provided by Jing, brewing one rounded teaspoon of leaves in 8 ounces of boiling water for 3 minutes. The water became a rich mahogany colour almost as soon as I dropped in the leaves. The scent of the cup is less sophisticated than that of the dry leaves, but it's fresh, lemony aroma is enticing nonetheless. What is most immediately striking is that the taste of the leaves really shines through. Stout cream, tobacco, burnt sugar and malt notes make themselves known alongside the bergamot. The tannic, metallic finish of the Ceylon mingles with the citrus freshness of the bergamot beautifully. Quite amazingly, despite the strength of the tea base, there is no bitter edge whatsoever. This blend can definitely take milk and sugar. However the leaves provide such a velvety texture that the addition of a creamer is not absolutely needed. The bergamot flavour is not as strong as in other blends but it delivers a persistent and enveloping presence. It shares the stage with the tea base rather being the sole star of the show, as in other Earl Grey blends. After a second 3 minute infusion, the tea is thinner and more focused on the bergamot. The flavour of the tea base is still present, providing delicious toasted bread notes, but slowly receding into the background. A third 3 minute infusion is rather watery and not very interesting, especially compared to the first two.Jing makes good on their promise of a superior leaf. Deeply satisfying and expertly blended, this offering will please black tea lovers as well as Earl Grey fans. Well done!
- Best Teait's surely the best tea I have ever taste, morning, evening give always a good sense of freshness.
